NOTE
States in Nigeria
There are 36states in Nigeria plus the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) under the control of the Federal government. In Nigeria, there are 774 local government areas.
EKITI (Fountain of Knowledge)
It is located in the south west. Its capital is Ado-Ekiti. It was created out of Ondo state in 1996. Economic activities include cultivation of cocoa, rubber and oil palm. It consists of 16 local government areas.
ENUGU (Coal city state)
It is located in the south east. Its capital is Enugu. It was created out of Anambra state in 1991. Economic activities include mining coal, manufacturing cars, producing steel, cultivating rice, oil palm, fruit and yams. It consists of 17 local government areas.
GOMBE (Jewel of the Savannah)
It is located in the North east. Its capital is Gombe. It was created from Bauchi state in 1996. Economic activities include herding livestock, leather-working and growing cereal crops. It consists 11 local government areas.
IMO STATES (Eastern heartland)
It is located in south east. Its capital is Owerri. It was created in 1976. The main religion is Christianity. Economic activities include cultivation of rice, oil palm and various fruits as well as fishing. It consists of 27 local government areas.
