There are 36states in Nigeria plus the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) under the control of the Federal government. In Nigeria, there are 774 local government areas.

NOTE

States in Nigeria

There are 36states in Nigeria plus the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) under the control of the Federal government. In Nigeria, there are 774 local government areas.

 

CROSS RIVER (The People’s Paradise)

It is located in south-south Nigeria. Its capital is Calabar. It was created out of Rivers state in 1976.Economic activities include local subsistence farming, plantations and demonstration farms. Main crops are cassava, rice, plantain, cocoyam etc. it consists of 18 local government areas

 

DELTA (The big heart)

It is located in south-south Nigeria. Its capital is Asaba. It was created out Bendel state in 1991. Economic activities include petroleum production, fishing and cultivation of fruits such as rice, yams, oil palm, rubber.

The most prominent religions are Christianity and indigenous. It consists of 25 local government areas.

EBONYI (Salt of the nation)

It is located in south eastern Nigeria. Its capital is Abakaliki. It was created out of Enugu and Abia states in 1996. Economic activities include cultivation of yams, beans and rice. Its prominent religions are Christianity and indigenous ones. It consists of 13 local government areas. 

EDO STATES (Heartbeat of the Nation)

It is located in South-South Nigeria. Its capital is Benin city. It was created in 1991 out of Bendel state. Economic activities include cultivation of yams, fruits, oil palm, rubber and mining of quartz, gold and coal, it consists of 18 local government areas.
