SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Define Power.
  2. Narrate the story of Mary Magdalene.
  3. Explain the story learnt from the story.
  4. Identify other people whose sins were forgiven by Jesus.
  5. State the importance of forgiveness of sins in our Christian life.

Instructional Techniques: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration, story-telling

Instructional Materials: toys, picture book showing Mary Magdalene anointing the feet of Jesus, Bible, story book

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The Teacher do a revision on this topic.

She explains that Power is the capacity to get things done. She defines Sin is any action done that opposes the law of God

EXPLANATION

She explains that when one Sin that there is a punishment given out. She explains that Christians always have to stay away from Sin as it pulls us away from God.

DEMONSTRATION

Using the Bible story books and the pictures there in she tells the story of Mary Magdalene

           -How Mary Magdalene entered the house where Jesus was invited and anointed his feet

            -How Jesus forgive her of her sin. Lk 7:36-48

The teacher writes a short note on the board

NOTE

Jesus has the power to forgive people of their Sins as illustrated in the story of Mary Magdalene. It is because of Sin that we cannot relate with God. God is Holy and he that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth that is free from sin.
