NOTE

A town is a place with many streets and buildings, where people live and work. Towns are larger than villages and smaller than cities.

KANO

It is the capital of Kano state. Subsistence and commercial agriculture are mostly practiced in the outlying districts of the state. During the colonial periods, the groundnut produced in this region was one of the nation’s source of revenue. Kano is the major producer of hides and skins, sesame, soybean, cotton, garlic, gum Arabic and chilli pepper.

Christians are the minority in Kano where Sharia is valid. Its estimated population is 4,000,000

 

MAKURDI

It is the capital of Benue state. It is the home to Benue State University, University of Agriculture, Makurdi amongst others. It is predominantly an agricultural area specialising in cash crops and subsistence crops. Christianity and Islam are practised in the state. Its estimated population is 500,797.

KATSINA

Katsina is the capital of Katsina state. The city is the centre of an agricultural region producing groundnuts, cotton, hides, millet and guinea corn. And also has mills for producing peanut oil and steel. The range of livestock in the state is cattle, sheep, goat and poultry. Its estimated population is 429,000
