SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupil should be able to

1) Explain Basic shapes

2) Identify and draw basic shape like Triangle, Square etc

3) Explain what patterns are

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: Audio visual resources: Drawing book or drawing sheet, diagram of basic shapes, colour pencil

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The Teacher explains that Basic shapes are simple shapes that cannot be broken down into simple shapes by general conventions.

EXPLANATION

She explains that there are 10 Basic shapes include the square, circle, triangle, Oval, rectangle, trapezoid, Pentagon, hexagon and octagon

DEMONSTRATION

She uses drawing book, sheet, board to show the diagrams of basic shape to the pupils and their spelling and She assist them in drawing this diagram on their own.

The teacher writes the note on the board while the pupils copy.

NOTE

Basic shapes are the simplest of shapes in which all other shapes are made from the combination of these shapes. Basic shapes are importance because all diagrams drawn make use of these shapes.
