1) Explain what Craft is

2) Identify types Of Craft e.g paper craft, fabric craft, woven craft in/outside the classroom

3) State the uses of craft in/outside the classroom

4) List some materials in crafts making

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playword, method, questions and answers, demonstration.

She explains that craft varies from sculpture, and metalwork to knitting and printing and can be divided into 5: Textile, Decorative, Paper, Functional, and fashion crafts. She also explains some of the uses of craft

Types of Craft

1.Textile Craft- This include type of craft where you work with fabric, yarn, or surface design. Examples include Knitting, quilting, weaving etc

  1. Paper Craft- This involves the use of paper. Examples include Paper-Mache, calligraphy, and papermaking
  2. Decorative craft- This craft involves anything where the final product is a piece of decoration. This include Furniture making, Metal work, Sponge ware, Toy making, etc
  3. Fashion Craft- This craft encompasses all the elements of dressing the human body: Jewelry, hats, leatherwork. It will naturally intersect with other craft types since Jewelry can be made through metal work.
  4. Functional Craft- This are Craft that are made for a purpose and not just for beautification. Many of the four other types of Crafts can also be classified as functional. For example, decorative pottery including serving platters and utensils is often made with components that are okay for people to eat.
