SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Explains the different forms of prayer.
  2. Identify people in the Bible that prayed.
  3. state reasons why people pray the different forms of prayer.

Instructional Materials: toys, picture book showing pictures of people praying the different forms of prayer, Bible, story book

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The Teacher uses the ‘Pray every day’ song  to introduce the topic

She explains that Prayer is a lifestyle to a Christian and that it is the key to solve problems

Pupils pay attention

EXPLANATION

She explains that through prayer one can ask God to do things for him which he cannot do as seen in the Life of Jesus

Pupils pay attention and participate

STEP 3

DEMONSTRATION

Using the Bible story books and the pictures there in she tells the story of Daniel in the Lion den

         -How some people conspired against Daniel

       -How they got the King to sign a decree that Prevents Daniel from praying to God

         -How Daniel disobeyed the decree and how he was thrown into the Lion den

         -How he Survived and God gave him victory.

           Dan 6:1-28

The teacher writes a short note on the board

NOTE

Adoration is a form of prayer which involve the act of paying honor and worship to God.

Groaning is a form of prayer which involve great pain and suffering with a deep sound to God.

Prayer is a lifestyle which every Christian should inculcate in them.
