STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The Teacher uses the ‘prayer is the key’ song to Introduce the topic.

The Teacher List some the things we are to pray about as Christians. She introduces Petition and Thanksgiving prayer as type of prayers

EXPLANATION

She explains that Prayer of petition is simply requesting and asking God for help while prayer for confession of sin is asking God for forgiveness of any wrong doing against him.

DEMONSTRATION

Using the Bible story books and the pictures there in she tells the story of Hannah and her prayer of petition

        -How Hannah who was barren went into the temple To Pray for a child

        -How she made a vow to God that if he gives her a child, she will give him to serve in the temple all the days of his life

      -How Eli Prayed for Her and bore a Son. 1 Sam 1:9-20.

The teacher writes a short note on the board

NOTE

There are various reasons why we pray to God. We can pray to God for forgiveness of sin this is called Prayer of confession of sin. when we pray to God requesting his help in something, this is called prayer of petition.
