SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupil should be able to

1) Explain coloring and functional artwork e.g Cup, Basket, Pot etc

2) Identify some functional artworks in/ outside the classroom

3) Draw and colour functional artworks.

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playword, method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: Audio Visual Resources: Sample of artwork drawn and coloured E.g Basket, Pot, Cup, Mat etc. Drawing materials and colours e.g (crayon)

INTRODUCTION

The Teacher Defines colouring as the act or process of applying colour to a substance.

She defines Functional artwork as beautiful and useful things designed for used. They include cups, pot, stick, carved chair etc

She gives more examples of functional art work and explain the uses of functional art work

She uses pictures, cardboard, water colour or crayon to show how to make a simple art work and how to apply colours to it.

Uses Of Functional Artworks

  1. For the beautification of the Environment
  2. It can serve as a memento for Important event and meaning
  3. It can be used to express one feeling
  4. it can be used for keeping record for important events, History and Culture.
