SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupil should be able to

1) Mix basic colours e.g Red, Blue, Yellow to get secondary colours;

2) Identify secondary colours in/outside the classroom;

3)Form a colour wheel, showing the basic and secondary colours

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playword, method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: Audio visual resources: Sample of Basic colour, colour wheels showing combination of basic colours and secondary colours.

INTRODUCTION

The Teacher does a revision on the last topic. She explains more about the origin of Colour

EXPLANATION

She explains Secondary colours and how they Primary colours can be mixed to give secondary colours e.g Blue + red= Purple. She explains what a color wheel is.

She uses pictures, empty containers, liquid colours, brush to show the pupils how to mix primary colour to produce secondary colours

NOTE

A colour wheel is an arrangement of all colour in a circle based on their relationship. It contains twelve colours consisting of three primary colours(red, yellow, blue), three secondary colours (green, orange, purple) and six tertiary colour (Blue-green, red-violet)

EVALUATION:  1) ______ wheel is the arrangement of colour in a circle. ( Circle, Colour, Paint)
