STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the For such a time as this song to introduce the topic.

She explains what courage means- Courage means making good decisions in the face of fear or obstacles

EXPLANATION

She then further explains that Esther had become a queen in Persia after the former Queen Vashti was removed because she disobeyed the king

DEMONSTRATION

Using the bible story books and the pictures there in she tells the story of Esther

-      How an enemy named Haman had planned to slaughter the people of Israel living in the land of Persia

-      How Esther was told by her uncle Mordecai what Haman had planned

-      How Esther organized a fast both for herself and her maids and also all the children of Israel living in Persia

-      How it was a law that no one was to appear before the king unless they were called

-      How Esther had courageously gone before the king even when it could have led to her losing her life

-      How the king killed Haman for trying to kill Esther’s people and they were delivered

NOTE

Esther was a queen who believed in God. When Haman wanted to kill her people, she, her maids along with other Israelites in exile fasted and prayed to God to deliver them. She went to the king even though it could have cost her life and God used her to destroy her enemy and deliver her people.
