Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to
Instructional Material: Letter charts, charts of common sight words, charts showing singular and plural of words(by adding es), charts on the correct use of the present tense, a chart showing Nigeria and all the states in Nigeria
Instructional Techniques: Repetition, explanation, demonstration, question and answers
Entry Behaviour: The pupils can spell, pronounce and write three and four-letter words,
Set Induction: The teacher uses alphabet rhyme to arouse them

Periods I-II: Common sight words
