ENTRY BEHAVIOUR – The pupils can count numbers 1550 and spell numbers 160
SET INDUCTION –She uses number rhyme to arouse their interest

PERIOD I: Counting numbers 1600 and writing 300350

I Introduction  The teacher reviews the previous lesson introduces the new topic  Pupils participate 
II Counting  Using the number chart, she counts number 1600 repeatedly.  Pupils repeat after her 
III Writing numbers  She counts and write numbers 300350 on the board; she also uses flashcards  Pupils count and write in their book 
IV Number ending  She writes the number endings on the board and also uses flashcards  Pupils count 
Evaluation  Count and write numbers 300350 

Conclusion
 She marks their books and corrects them where necessary 

PERIOD II& III: Number spellings 170. Measurement of weight and volume, 5x times table

I Introduction  The teacher reviews the previous lesson introduces the new topic  Pupils participate 
II Drilling  She drills them on the spelling of 6170 Sixtyone = 61 Sixtytwo = 62 Sixtythree = 63 Sixtyfour = 64 Sixtyfive = 65 Sixtysix = 66 Sixtyseven = 67 Sixtyeight = 68 Sixtynine = 69 Seventy = 70 

III Measurement of weight/volume  She tells them that weight is how heavy or light an object Example:
 Pupils identify heavy and light objects 
III 5x table  She writes the 5x table on the board and recites it severally as the pupils recite after her 5 x 1 = 5 5 x 2 = 10 5 x 3 = 15 5 x 4 = 20 5 x 5 = 25 5 x 6 = 30 5 x 7 = 35 5 x 8 = 40 5 x 9 = 45 5 x 10 = 50 5 x 11 = 55 5 x 12 = 60 

Evaluation  1. The pupils are given exercises on weight and volume in their textbooks 2. Write in words 6170 61 = 62 = 63 = 64 = 65 = 66 = 67 = 68 = 69 = 70 = 3. Complete the 5x table 5 x 5 = 5 x 6 = 5 x 7 = 5 x 8 =

PERIOD V: Telling time O’ clock. Sensorial arranging beads according to their colour
STEPS  TEACHER’S ACTIVITY  PUPILS’ ACTIVITY 
I Introduction  The teacher reviews the basic shapes and introduces the new topic  Pupils respond 
II Sorting beads according to colours  The teacher divides the pupils into four groups. Each group is to pick out the red, yellow, green and blue respectively  Pupils sort out the beads into colours 
III Telling the time  The teacher draws a clock face on the board and explains that O’ clock is simply when the minute hand is on 12 and the hour hand is on any other number


Evaluation  1. The pupils are evaluated based on how well each group sorted out the beads into colours 2. The pupils are giving exercises on O’ clock from their textbooks

 She marks their books and corrects them where necessary
