Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

  1. Pronounce, spell, read and write words with silent ‘e’ at the end
  2. Correctly use this, that(singular) and these, those(plural)

Instructional Material: Letter charts, words ending with silent ‘e’ at the end, sentence strips showing the correct usage of these, those, that and this

Instructional Techniques: Repetition, explanation, demonstration, question and answers 

Entry Behaviour: The pupils can spell, pronounce and write three-letter words

Set Induction: The teacher uses alphabet rhyme to arouse them

‘This’ is used for one object that is near

‘That’ is used for one object that is far

 

The teacher then uses the learners personal items(e.g bags, pencils, books etc) in near and far distances within the classroom to illustrate the use of ‘this’ and ‘that’

For example,
