STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the animal song and introduces the topic and explains that A dog is a domestic animal that lives in the home

She further explains that

A dog’s house is called a kennel

A dog’s baby is called baby

The dog’s favourite food is a bone

Using the chart, she further explains the uses of dogs to human beings

She demonstrates simple first aid treatment for dog bites

-  Wash the bite area with soap and water. If the bite is bleeding, put pressure on it using sterile gauze or a clean cloth.

-  If the bleeding has stopped, put antibiotic ointment on the area.

-  Cover the area with a bandage or sterile gauze.

-  If your child has pain, give them pain relief
