DURATION – 5 periods of 35 minutes each

TOPIC- Counting Numbers 1-160, number ending

CONTENT – Writing 1-120, number spelling 1-20, addition of numbers. Shapes, even numbers 30-50.

INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES – By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to –

  1. Count and identify numbers 1-160
  2. Write numbers 1-120
  3. Spell and write numbers 1-20
  4. Identify even numbers 30-40
  5. Identify shapes and also add numbers

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS – flash cards, number charts, counters

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES – Explanation, repetition, questions and answers

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR – The pupils can count numbers 1-150

SET INDUCTION – She uses number rhyme to arouse their interest

PERIOD I and II: Oral counting 1-160. Writing 1-120

Using the number chart, she counts number 1-160 repeatedly.

Writing

She counts and write numbers on the board.

She write the number endings 1-160 on the board and also uses flashcards for easy understanding

Pupils count repeatedly

Evaluation

Count and write numbers 1-120

She drills them on spelling numbers 1-20

Write these numbers in words
