TOPIC- Counting numbers 1-140

CONTENT – Number ending, writing 1-100, fill in the missing numbers 1-100. Number in words 1-10. Addition of numbers 1-10, odd numbers 21-29

INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES – By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to –

  1. Count and identify numbers 1-140
  2. Write numbers 1-100
  3. Spell and write numbers 1-10 in words
  4. Identify and write odd numbers 21-29
  5. Add numbers

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR – The pupils can count numbers 1-120

PERIOD I & II: Counting numbers, writing and filling missing numbers

Counting and recognition

Using the number chart, she counts number 1-140 repeatedly.

Pupils repeat after her

Writing of numbers

She counts and write the number endings on the board. She counts repeatedly and uses flashcards

Pupils count and identify numbers

Filling the missing numbers

She writes number 1-100 on the board with some numbers missing

Count and write numbers 1-100

Fill in the missing numbers

PERIOD III & IV: Number in words. Odd numbers

She revises spelling of 1-5 and then introduces 6-10

Pupils spell along with her

Odd numbers

She reviews the previous odd numbers learnt and then introduces the new ones  21, 23, 25, 27, 29

She also uses flashcard for easy identification

Write 6-10 in words

Circle the odd numbers

21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30
