SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

  1. Discuss methods of disposing animal waste
  2. Discuss the use of animal waste

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: waste disposal materials e.g dust bin, brooms, parker, paper, carton, leaves, waste water, shovels, pictures of animal waste etc

Introduction of the topic

The teacher introduces the topic with a story on animal waste

She tells the children that animals produce some waste products that could cause environmental hazard if not properly handled

She explains to them the methods of disposing animal waste

-      Burying them in the ground to prevent bad odour or epidemic

-      It could also be used as manure to make our soil fertile for the planting of crops

NOTE

Animal waste if not properly handle can bring serious danger to our environment. The best ways of disposing them are

  • Burying them in the ground to prevent bad odour and epidemic
  • Used it as manure to make our soil fertile for the planting of crops
