TOPIC- Counting numbers 1-130

CONTENT – Writing 1-80. Filling the missing numbers 1-80. Number spelling 1-5. Introduction to addiction of numbers 1-5 (horizontal and vertical) colour box 1 and 2

INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES – By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to –

  1. Count and identify numbers 1-130
  2. Write numbers 1-78
  3. Fill in the missing numbers 1-80
  4. Spell and write numbers 1-5 in words
  5. Add numbers

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS – number chart, counters, flash cards

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES – Explanation, repetition, questions and answers

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR – The pupils can count 1-120

SET INDUCTION – She uses number rhyme to arouse their interest

PERIOD I & II: Counting numbers 1-130, number endings and writing 1-80

Using the number chart, the teacher counts numbers 1-130 repeatedly.

Using flashcards, she counts the number ending repeatedly and also writes them on the board

Writing 

She writes the number on the board and also uses flashcards for easy identification

Pupils count and write the numbers

Evaluation

Count and write numbers 1-80. Fill in the missing number ending
