INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES – By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to –

  1. Identify and read capital and small letters
  2. Write the letters
  3. Fill in the missing letters
  4. Associate letters to objects

Instructional Materials – flash cards, pictures, alphabet chart

Instructional Techniques –Explanation, repetition, class participation

Entry Behaviour – The pupils can identify letters

Set Induction – She uses alphabet rhyme to arouse their interest

PERIOD I – Recognition and reading of capital and small letters

Reading and identification

Using the alphabet chart, the teacher reads and identify the letters severally. She also uses flashcards for easy identification.

She writes out the letters on the board. She emphasizes on the difference between the capital  and small letters
