STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the How did Moses cross the red sea song to introduce the topic.

She explains what a sea is-  A sea is a body of salt water not as large as an ocean and often nearly surrounded by land.

EXPLANATION

She then further explains that the children of Israel had suffered greatly in the hands of Pharaoh the king of Egypt and had just been released after God had sent 10 plagues to Egypt including the death of all the firstborn sons of both human beings and animals

DEMONSTRATION

Using the bible story books and the pictures there in she tells the story of Moses parting the red sea

-      How Moses had reached the red sea along with this great crowd of people who had just been released from Egypt

-      How he asked God what to do

-      How God told him to raise the rod in his hand towards the sea

-      How from night to morning the sea divided into two and dry land appeared in the midst

-      How every single child of Israel had crossed safely to the other side

-      How the chariots of Israel had rushed into the red sea behind the children of Israel and were caught in the middle

-      How the red sea closed up and all the chariots of Egypt perished in it including their very stubborn king

-      How the children of Israel had rejoiced because of the great victory God gave them by the miracle of parting the red sea
