STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher introduces the topic with the if you’re happy and you know it song;

 

She explains that a feather is light weights that grows on a bird’s body

 

She also explains that a hat is a head covering

 

She also explains that a pony is a small horse

The pupils pay attention and participate

STEP 2

EXPLANATION

The teacher explains the rhymes and shows them shows them the picture of a feather, a hat, a pony, and a middle-aged man

 

She also explains the wordings one after the other

Pupils listen

STEP 3

RECITATION

The teacher recites the rhyme as many times as possible and asks the pupils to do same.

 

Yankee Doodle went to town,
Riding on a pony.
He stuck a feather in his cap.
And called it macaroni.

Yankee Doodle, Fa, So, La.
Yankee Doodle Dandy.
Yankee Doodle, Fa, So, La.
Buttermilk and Brandy.
