  2. Enumerate the materials that makes the home unsafe
  3. Describe a safe home environment

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Charts of dangerous items such as blades, knives, pins, needles, kerosene etc, some real objects- blades, knives, pins, needles, picture showing a safe home environment

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the If you’re strong and you know it song and introduces the topic and explains that a home is where we live

DRAMATIZATION

She dramatizes an incident before the children. With a kitchen setting, she demonstrates a knife cut she sustains while she was playing with a knife.

EXPLANATION

She then explains to the children that the home environment becomes unsafe when it is littered with sharp objects like blades, knives, kerosene etc

 

She also warns the children not to go near or even play with such items as they can sustain serious injuries from them. Rather the children are taught to report the sighting of those items to their parents

The teacher writes a short note on the board

The pupils copy the notes in their books

 

NOTE

The home environment becomes unsafe when it is littered with sharp objects like blades, knives, kerosene etc.

Do not go near or even play with such items as you can sustain serious injuries from them
