Content:   Identification, writing and number endings 9 – 90, more or less, volume, counting in set 1 – 15, length, days of the week

Specific Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

  1. Count number 1- 120 and number endings 9 - 90
  2. Count in numbers in sets
  3. Identify more or less volume
  4. Identify length

Instructional Materials: Counters, flash cards 

Instructional Techniques: Explanation, demonstration, repetition, questions and answers 

Entry Behaviour:  The teacher arouse them with number rhymes

Instructional procedure

Periods I, II and III: Counting of numbers, 120 ending numbers 9 – 90, counting in set 1-15

She counts in set to 15 as thus:                                     

Pupils identify numbers in set

Evaluation:

  1. Count number 1 – 110
  2. Write number endings 9 – 80
  3. Count in sets

      

Conclusion: She corrects and marks their book

Periods IV: long or short-length,

Example:

Pupils identify tall and short object

 

Evaluation: Pupils do more work in length from their textbooks.

Periods V: Days of the week

Sunday (1st day)  - we go to church

Tuesday (3rd day) – we go to school

Wednesday (4th day) – we go to school

Thursday (5th day) – we go to school

Friday (6th day) – we go to school

Saturday (7th day) we wash our clothes

The pupils listen attentively

 

Evaluation: The teacher asks the following questions

  1. How many days are in 1 week ________ (7 days/ 5 days)
  2. The first day of the week is ____________ (Monday/ Sunday)
  3. Which day do we go to church ____________ (Sunday/ Saturday)
  4. We go to school for ________ days in a week (7/ 5)

Conclusion: She correct and commend them
