  2. Identify a ‘spoon’ and the ‘moon’
  3. Recite the rhymes with ease

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher introduces the topic with the animal song;

 

She explains that a cow is a large animal that is raised for meat, milk and its skin

 

She also explains that a spoon is a tool used in eating

 

She also explains that a dish is a special plate used in serving food

 

She also explains that the moon is an object that appears in the sky at night

The pupils pay attention and participate

STEP 2

EXPLANATION

The teacher explains the rhymes and shows them the picture of a cow, cat, spoon and a dish

 

She also explains the wordings one after the other

Pupils listen

STEP 3

RECITATION

The teacher recites the rhyme as many times as possible and asks the pupils to do same.

 

Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such fun
And the dish ran away with the spoon!
