  1. Give the simple meaning of non-living things
  2. List examples of non-living things
  3. Explain some of the things non-living things cannot do

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Charts showing different non-living things, real objects-stones, paper, umbrellas, caps etc

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the Old Macdonald had a farm song and introduces the topic and explains that non-living things are things that have no life in them

Pupils pay attention

STEP 2

EXPLANATION

She gives various examples of non-living things such as

- stones

- Paper

- Umbrella

- cap

 

She further explains that non-living things cannot do the following

-      Move

-      Eat

-      Breathe

-      Give birth to young ones

-      Die

Pupils pay attention and participates

STEP 3

INTERACTIVE SESSION

She asks the pupils to tell the class the various non-living things they see at their various homes

Pupils pay attention and participate

NOTE TAKING

The teacher writes a short note on the board

The pupils copy the note in their books

 

NOTE

Non-living things are things that have no life in them. Examples of non-living things such as

Non-living things cannot do the following
