Introduction of the topic

The teacher introduces the topic with a story on living things.

Living things are things that have life in them.

Explanation

 She gives examples like man, dog, goat, chicken, plants etc and tells the pupils their characteristics like they can move, they feed, they grow, they die

She uses a picture/chart to show different types of living organisms

She writes a short note on the board

NOTE

Living things are things that have life in them. Examples are dog, cat, plant, human beings etc
