SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Identify a square as a shape
  2. Count the squares
  3. Draw and Colour them with ease

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Activity book/Drawing book, Colours(coloured pencils, crayons, poster colours), pictures of squares, objects that are rectangular in shape

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

-The teacher uses the shapes song and introduces the topic and explains that Square is a shape that has four sides.

IDENTIFICATION

The teacher shows them the squares in their activity book and asks them to identify them

She then asks them to count the number of squares there are

 

Pupils participate

STEP 3

DRAWING AND COLOURING

The teacher shares out their books for them to draw and colour the squares with colour black as she draws and colours hers on the board

 

The pupils draw and colour following the leading of the teacher

 

EVALUATION:    1. Identify squares

  1. How many squares are in the activity book?
  2. Draw and colour a square

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the pupils positively
