INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Activity book/Drawing book, Colours(coloured pencils, crayons, poster colours), pictures of squares, objects that are rectangular in shape

STEP 1 INTRODUCTION	-The teacher uses the shapes song and introduces the topic and explains that Square is a shape that has four sides.	Pupils pay attention
STEP 2 IDENTIFICATION	The teacher shows them the squares in their activity book and asks them to identify them She then asks them to count the number of squares there are	Pupils participate
STEP 3 DRAWING AND COLOURING	The teacher shares out their books for them to draw and colour the squares with colour black as she draws and colours hers on the board	The pupils draw and colour following the leading of the teacher
