1) Draw the Nigeria’s national flag

2) Recite the national anthem and pledge of the country

STEP 1

Introduction of the topic

The teacher introduces the topic with a story on Nigeria. She tells that our Nigerian flag, anthem and pledge are part of Nigeria’s national symbols

Pupils pay attention

Explanation

She shows them the Nigerian flag an tells them it has two colours: Green and white

She then shows the pupils how to correctly draw and color Nigeria’s national flag

 

She teaches them how to recite the national anthem and pledge

Demonstration

She then shows the real national flag to the pupils that they may be able to identify it

NOTE TAKING

She writes a short note on the board

The pupils copy the notes in their books

 

NOTE

The Nigerian flag has two colours: Green and white

 

National anthem

Arise Oh Compatriots

Nigeria’s call obey

To serve our fatherland

With love and strength and faith

The labour of our heroes past

Shall never be in vein

To serve with heart and might

One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity

 

National pledge

I pledge to Nigeria my country

To be faithful, loyal and honest

To serve Nigeria with all my strength

To defend her unity

And uphold her honour and glory

So help me God
