INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Collection of poems and rhymes book, picture of a someone is bed sleeping, pictures of staircase(upstairs and downstairs)

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher introduces the topic with the rest song;

Sleep is when we close our eyes, lies on the bed in order for our body to be refreshed

The pupils pay attention and participate

STEP 2

EXPLANATION

The teacher explains the rhymes and shows someone running upstairs and downstairs to remind others it is time to sleep.

She also explains the wordings one after the other

Pupils listen

STEP 3

RECITATION

The teacher recites the rhyme as many times as possible and asks the pupils to do same.

 

Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town
Upstairs, downstairs in his nightgown
Rapping at the windows, crying through the lock
"Are the children in their bed? Now it's eight o'clock"
