SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Identify the heart
  2. Count the hearts
  3. Colour them with ease

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Activity book/Drawing book, Colours(coloured pencils, crayons, poster colours), picture of the heart

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the parts of the body song and introduces the topic and explains that the heart is the core part of the body where blood is pumped

 

She explains that when the heart is beating, it shows that a person is alive

 

She then proceeds to tell the children to put their hands on their chest to feel the beating of their hearts

 

She also tells them that heart is a symbol for love

Pupils pay attention

STEP 2

IDENTIFICATION

The teacher shows them the hearts in their activity book and asks them to identify them

 

She then asks them to count the number of hearts there are

STEP 3

DRAWING AND COLOURING

The teacher shares out their books for them to draw and colour the heart with red colour as she draws and colours hers on the board

The pupils draw and colour following the leading on the board

 

EVALUATION:    1. Identify a heart

  1. How many hearts are in the activity book?
  2. Draw and Colour a heart

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the pupils positively
