Topic:        Oral Counting/ Identification of 0 – 60

Content:   Writing 0 –25, Number sequence, arranging of numbers, counting backward and forward 1-10, filling in the missing numbers 1 – 20, number value by counting and sorting number endings 9 - 60

Specific Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

  1. Count and identify 1- 60
  2. Write numbers 1 - 25
  3. Arrange numbers 1- 20 in sequence
  4. Count and sort number value by drawing and colouring
  5. Count numbers 1-10 forward and backward.

Instructional Materials: Number chart, counters

Instructional Techniques: Demonstration, repetition and questioning

Entry Behaviour:  The pupils can count 1 – 50                                                                                                                 

Set Induction: The teacher uses number rhyme to arouse their interest

Periods I: Oral counting and Identification of 0-60.

Periods II and III: Arranging numbers 1- 20 in order, counting forward and backward

  2. Re-arrange the numbers in sequence beginning with the smallest

Periods IV and V; Number value by colouring and drawing
