SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Identify a the five fingers
  2. Trace the five fingers

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Activity book/Drawing book, Colours(coloured pencils, crayons, poster colours), pictures of circles, objects that are circular in shape, pupils as learning resource

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the how many fingers do you have rhyme and introduces the topic and explains that every hand has five fingers.

 

She tells them that it means the two hands have ten fingers

Pupils pay attention

STEP 2

IDENTIFICATION

The teacher tells them what we use the fingers for:

-      Washing

-      Writing

-      Beating the drum etc

 

Pupils participate

STEP 3

DRAWING AND COLOURING

The teacher shares out their books for them to trace their five fingers as she traces hers on the board

The pupils draw and colour following the leading of the teacher

 

EVALUATION:    1. Identify fingers

  1. How many fingers do you have?
  2. Trace your five fingers

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the pupils positively
