Topic:        Oral Counting and Identification of 0 – 50

Content:   Writing 0 – 20, Number values by colour 1 – 10, matching with objects 1 – 10, fill in the missing number 1 – 15, more shapes and colours

Specific Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

  1. Count and identify numbers 0 - 50
  2. Write and sort number values by colours 1-10
  3. Fill in the missing numbers 1- 15
  4. Match numbers with objects 1- 10
  5. Identify more shapes and colours

Instructional Materials: Flash cards, countable objects, colours, chart etc

Instructional Techniques: Repetition, explanation, questions and answers

Entry Behaviour:  The pupils can count 1 – 40                                                                                                                  Set Induction: The teacher uses number rhyme to arouse their interest

Periods I: Oral counting, Identification of 0-50. Writing 0 – 20

Periods II and III: Number value by colouring 1 – 10

Periods  IV: Fill in the missing numbers and matching objects 1- 10
