Matching numbers 1-5 with objects. Fill in the missing numbers 1-5. 

Instruction objectives: By the of the lesson the pupils should be able to

  1. Count numbers 1-20
  2. Write numbers 0-5
  3. Identify value of numbers 1-5
  4. Match numbers 1-5 with objects.
  5. Fill in the missing numbers 1-5

Instructional Material: Number chart, flash cards

Instructional Techniques: Explanation, repetition, illustration, question and answers 

Entry Behaviour: The pupils have counted numbers 1-10  

Set Induction: The teacher arouses them by asking them to count numbers 1 -10

The teacher places a chart 0-5 and counts drilling the pupils on the count

The teachers writes out numbers 0-5 teaching the pupils how to do so.

Evaluation: The teacher asks thus:

  1. Count numbers 0-20
  2. Write numbers 0-5

 

Period III and IV: Number value 1-5, matching of numbers 1-5
