PEACE

Peace is a stress-free state of security and calmness that comes when

there's no fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and

freedom.

TYPES OF PEACE

  1. Positive peace: this is the kind of peace that occurs naturally when

people decide to live in peace with one another

  1. Negative peace: this is the kind of peace that is imposed or forced on

people

IMPORTANCE OF PEACE

  1. It brings about economic development and growth
  2. when there is peace, there is harmony, progress and unity
  3. the presence of peace is the absence of political instability
  4. it removes fear, tension and feelings of insecurity
  5. it allows for cooperation
  6. Governments and private businesses are able to function effectively

WAYS OF PROMOTING PEACE

  1. Sensitization and orientation on the value of peace
  2. Advocacy campaigns for peace
  3. Protection of fundamental human rights
  4. Justice, equity and tolerance should be encouraged and implemented for all
