Week 7

The teacher revises the previous lesson and introduces the new topic by defining theatre and gives examples of words associated with theatre and their meaning.

Theatre refers to an art concerned exclusively with live dramatic performance on stage. The theatre can also be a building, room, or other setting where plays or other dramatic presentations are performed.

Sometimes a theatre can also be a place where films are shown.

The purpose of the theatre is to imitate or represent life in performance for other people to see and enjoy or from which to learn.

The following are some words used in talking about a theatre or a play.
