The teacher revises the previous lesson and introduces the new topic by describing how the /ai/ and /ei/ sound is produced
/ai/ The /ai/ sound is a diphthong. When you say the /ai/ sound, the tongue glides from the position where you say /a/ and moves in the direction of the position where you pronounce /i/. the lips change from neutral to loosely spread and the jaw moves up.
She further describes the spelling of words with the /ai/ sound
/ei/ The sound /ei/ is a diphthong. It is a combination of two vowel sounds. It is pronounced when the tongue moves from the position where you say /e/ and glides to the position where you say /i/. The mouth is wide and the jaw moves up.
