IDENTIFICATION OF MUSICAL TERMS

Musical terms and signs encompass various aspects of music notation and performance instructions. The following are some categories and examples:

  1. Dynamics: These indicate the volume or intensity of the music.

   - Piano (p): Play softly.

   - Forte (f): Play loudly.

   - Mezzo Piano (mp): Moderately soft.

   - Mezzo Forte (mf): Moderately loud.

   - Crescendo (cresc.): Gradually get louder.

   - Decrescendo or Diminuendo (decresc. or dim.): Gradually get softer.

  1. Tempo: Terms that denote the speed of the music.

   - Allegro: Fast and lively.

   - Adagio: Slow and stately.

   - Andante: At a walking pace.

   - Presto: Very fast.

   - Largo: Very slow.
