/ᴂ/

When you say the sound /ᴂ/, the tip of your tongue touches the lower front teeth, the back of your tongue is down and your lips are spread. /ᴂ/ is a short vowel sound.

The sound /e/ is pronounced when the front of the tongue is raised midway, the lips are loosely spread and slightly wider apart than for the sound /I/. the back of the tongue and the jaw are down a little.
