BRANDING

Branding in agriculture is the process by which the farmers promote the

products of their agricultural business through different marketing

practices and promotional activities.

 

ADVANTAGES OF BRANDING

  1. for the maintenance of quality
  2. it gives a unique identity to the produce
  3. when goods are branded, the producer can enjoy monopoly
  4. it increases the sales of the produce
  5. it helps the consumer to remember what to buy
  6. to prevent counterfeiting of the produce

 

DISADVANTAGES OF BRANDING

  1. it may bring about confusion among the consumers
  2. it increases the cost of production
  3. some products especially perishables are difficult to brand e.g tomatoes,

fruits, vegetables etc
