CONSTITUTION

FEATURES OF POST-INDEPENDENCE CONSTITUTIONS.

Post-independence constitutions are the constitutions drafted by Nigeria after her independence in 1960. Their features include:

1) They recognized the fundamental human rights of citizens.

2) They were drafted by Nigerians for Nigerians.

3) The constitution established the system of government.

4) They shared political powers.

5) They stated ways of amendment.

6) They recognized the sovereignty of Nigeria.

7) The constitution is the supreme law of the land.
