CAUSES OF FALSEHOOD AND THEFT

  1. A bid to cover a crime
  2. evil desire for money, power and position
  3. to escape punishment and maintain dignity
  4. Lack of contentment
  5. Greed

 

EFFECTS OF FALSEHOOD AND THEFT

  1. inefficiency and low productivity- this is because people will attain a position; they are unqualified to be in
  2. Illicit gain made based on falsehood and theft

 

PUNISHMENTS FOR FALSEHOOD AND THEFT

The punishment ranges from 3years, 7years, 20years to life imprisonment. The number of years is determined by what is stolen/what the lie was all about and the mode with which it was stolen/how the lie was told. In the Islamic judicial system, the punishment could be as severe as the amputation of the arms.
