NOTE

CONSTITUTION

Constitution is a set of rules and regulations governing the conduct of the affairs of a state or country. It can also be defined as the whole body of fundamental laws, customs, conventions, principles, rules and regulations according to which a country or an organization is ruled.

TYPES OF CONSTITUTION

There are two major types of constitution:

  1. Written constitution: This is the type of constitution that is compiled, written, published and documented for future use. The Nigerian constitution is a written type and rigid in nature. Other countries that use a written constitution are U.S.A and Germany.
  2. Unwritten constitution: This is the type of constitution that is not written, not published and documented for future use. The contents are extracted from the tradition and custom of the people. It is very flexible to use and amend. Examples of countries using unwritten constitution are Great Britain and New Zealand.
