On the individual

2. it brings about a bad name and reputation
3. the family may be stigmatized and alienated from the society
4. it can bring about death of family members
5. it could result in financial crisis and depression

 

On the nation

1. it brings about a bad image to the nation
2. it causes tension, fear and panic
3. it slows down or completely alters economic growth and development
4. it could bring but political instability

 

SOLUTIONS TO CONTEMPORARY SOCIAL ISSUES AND PROBLEMS

1. Government should formulate policies that will engage youths that are

vulnerable to these issues. Policies such as building of industries, provision

of conducive learning infrastructures, provision of grants and loans for

startups and accelerator enterprises and implementing stiffer laws for those

who violate it

2. Heavy participation of Civil Societies and Organizations in the

sensitization of the citizens with regards to these social issues

3. Parents should establish cordial relationships with their wards and instill

In them good moral values

4. The general standard of living of the people should be improved
