NOTE

HOW TO PREVENT POSTURAL DEFECTS

  1. Sit properly to avoid lateral curve of the spine
  2. do not carry heavy objects on one side
  3. do not stand on one foot. Body weight should be carried by both feet
  4. eat adequate food for the development of the bones
  5. do not use work or writing tables that are too low or too high
  6. Clothes must be loose to allow for free movements
  7. all cases of poor hearing and poor vision must be reported to the doctor

 

TREATMENT OF POSTURAL DEFECTS

  1. Exercises to increase the motor strength of the key muscles affecting

posture are very helpful

  1. Patient should be advised to decrease pelvic inclination by using

abdominal and gluteus maximus muscles

  1. Correction of postural defects should be made immediately they are

discovered to prevent further damage.

  1. Undue exertion on the body system should be eliminated
