INTRODUCTION

The teacher revises the previous lesson and introduces the new topic by defining finite verbs and give examples

 

Finite verbs can usually can be changed from the present simple tense to the past simple tense or from the past simple tense to the present simple tense. Finite verbs are usually found innthe main clauses

EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION/TEACHER MODELLING

The teacher further explains the non-finite verbs and gives examples in sentences

 

Non-finite verbs are the infinitives(e.g move), the -ing participle(moving) and the -ed participle(moved). Non-finite verb phrases consist of one or more of such items. Non-finite verbs are generally found in subordinate clauses and they do not express tense(time)
