NOTE

EFFECTS OF FOREST ON THE ENVIRONMENT

  1. Air purification- the forest makes the air pure by using the carbon dioxide for photosynthesis, living things breathe in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide
  2. Formation of cloud- cloud formation is caused by forest. The high population of trees transpiring in the forest cause very high humidity, cloud formation and rainfall
  3. Soil protection: the soil is protected from erosion through forest protection by forming a thick cover or canopy over the soil. It can also reduce the impact of the rain drops
  4. Soil fertility: The fallen and decayed forest leaves form humus which improves soil fertility
  5. Evaporation reduction: The presence of forest reduces evaporation of soil water. The cover of the forest leaves reduce the impact of intense sunshine on the soil thereby reducing evaporation

EVALUATION:    1. State the effects of forest on the environment

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the students positively
