NOTE

FARM ANIMAL DISEASES

A disease is defined as any abnormality in the function of the tissue, organ or system of the animal or plant body.

FUNGAL DISEASE

Fungal disease or mycoses are infections caused by fungus, a type of microorganism. Fungi is similar to a plant but has no chlorophyll and cannot make its own food like a plant. Mycology is the study of fungi and those who specialize in fungi studies are called MYCOLOGISTS.

Some examples of fungal diseases include aspergillosis, ringworm etc

 

MODE OF TRANSMISSION

Some are air-borne, water-borne, insect-borne or by close contact and by means of spores

 

SYMPTOMS OF FUNGAL DISEASES

  1. gasping and labored breathing
  2. whistling noises
  3. stunted growth
  4. reduced use of food
  5. exudates or discharges
