NOTE

MONO CROPPING

This involves the planting only one type of crop on a piece of land at a time and harvesting it before another crop is planted on the same piece of land.

 

Advantages of mono cropping

  1. it is easier to market one crop
  2. easy to mechanize
  3. specialization gives rise to improved yields and quality products
  4. easy to treat large area where only one crop is growing

 

Disadvantages of mono cropping

  1. does not supply family with all its food requirements
  2. encourages spread of diseases and pests; this may result in total crop loss.
